Tri-State Eating Disorder Conference: Internal Family Systems & Eating Disorders

The Chesnut Group proudly presents our second annual Tri-State Eating Disorder Conference: Internal Family Systems & Eating Disorders!

April 12, 2024 & April 13, 2024
Evansville, IN

Please join us for a two-day in-person and virtual conference that brings together experts from diverse fields in the treatment of eating disorders. Internal Family Systems (IFS) has been gaining widespread popularity because it offers an effective, evidenced-based alternative to traditional talk therapy. IFS applies a systemic view of the mind through which all behaviors can be understood. IFS recognizes that extreme behaviors are fueled by psychological burdens caused by trauma, attachment wounds, boundary violations, and devaluing or painful experiences. This two-day conference will educate and demonstrate how IFS can be a powerful approach in the treatment of eating disorders.

Dr. Richard Schwartz, the founder of IFS, will provide a half-day training and overview of the IFS model as it relates to clients struggling with eating disorders and includes experiential exercises. This session will be followed by a day and a half of experiential and didactic workshops from various speakers with a special track available for dietitians. The topics will revolve around the treatment and healing through the IFS lens. Please stay tuned for exciting announcements as we finalize the schedule.

The two-day conference will offer continuing education opportunities for psychologists, master's level licensed clinicians, social workers, and registered dietitians/nutritionists. The training is also open to students, recent graduates, and medical practitioners who are wanting to learn more and expand their skill set. Speakers are scheduled, but final agenda is not yet confirmed. The total CE credits available will be finalized soon! (Please see CE Info tab for more information on who is eligible to receive CE credit.)
